England Call Up

GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL DOES IT AGAIN FOR ENGLAND:

To go with the success of Kodi Lyons-Foster (coached by Tony & Dan at U10 and Gio & Michael at U11) another ex-AC Finchley player has made it into an England squad.

From the same AC Finchley U11 North team as Kodi (2007-2008) coached by Gio & Michael now comes Sabrina Roach – her brothers played for Stef & Sean’s team and Tony & John’s team.

After playing U9, U10 and then U11 football for AC Finchley Sabrina was scouted to join Watford Football Club. She is the first member of Watford’s Girls’ Centre for Football Excellence to represent England.

This is a great achievement for Sabrina who is still remembered for her exciting wing play when playing for AC Finchley – many will remember her in the penalty shoot-out drama in the Cup final at the end of her U10 season in May 2007.

To have both a boy and a girl representing their country from the same AC Finchley team and club is quite a unique achievement and one for all at AC Finchley to be proud of.
